Silver Knight Entertainment Short Film Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
Open to individuals of all ages but a least two HODs must be 16-25 years old at the time of making the film and residing in the UK.
By entering, participants confirm that they meet eligibility requirements.
2. Submission Requirements
Films must be original, they may have previously submitted to other competitions or already screened and could have been made at any time e.g. the film could be 5 years old or made the day before the deadline!
The film’s duration must not exceed 5 and half minutes, including credits.
We are looking for documentaries around the theme of music, any genre of music and any connection to music we are interested in.
The content must not include offensive, explicit, or illegal material.
Language: Films not in English must include accurate English subtitles.
3. Submission Process
Submissions must be received by 2nd Feb 2025 5pm GMT(extensions can be given if you are making a film speficially for the this comp, please email us on our contact page)
Each participant can submit a maximum of 2 films.
Format: Films must be submitted in as a private or public link on YouTube or Vimeo and must meet the technical specifications outlined on the submission platform.
4. Ownership and Intellectual Property
The filmmaker retains ownership of their film and all associated intellectual property rights.
By entering, participants grant Silver Knight Entertainemnt a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, screen, and promote the film for competition-related activities, including public screenings, online promotion, and educational use.
Participants warrant that they have obtained all necessary rights and permissions, including music and third-party content, and that their film does not infringe upon any third-party rights.
5. Judging Criteria
Films will be judged by 6 judges internally and external to SKE.
We will start judging from the 10th Jan 2025
Judges' decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Winners will be announced on 05 Feb 2025 via email.
6. Prizes
Your film will be played before the feature presentation of our latest documentary,
Silver Knight Entertainment reserves the right to substitute prizes with items of equal value if necessary.
7. Publicity and Promotion
By entering, participants agree to allow Silver Knight Entertainment to use their name, and film details for promotional purposes.
Participants may be required to participate in publicity events, including interviews and social media promotions, without additional compensation.
8. Disqualification
Silver Knight Entertainment reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not comply with these terms or that is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
Any attempt to manipulate the competition, including fraudulent voting or spamming, will result in disqualification.
9. Limitation of Liability
Silver Knight Entertainment is not responsible for any technical malfunctions, network issues, or submission errors that may result in incomplete entries.
By entering, participants release Silver Knight Entertainment from any claims, liabilities, and damages arising from their participation in the competition or the use of their film as permitted by these terms.
10. Data Protection
Personal data collected during the submission process will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and in accordance with [privacy policy].

11. Modification of Terms
Silver Knight Entertainment reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
DEADLINE CHANGE: 2ND FEB 2025 5PM GMT
We are looking for short documentaries on the theme of music, it can be any genre of music, any connection to music but music must be part of the story. Be experimental! This could be your first film, you could already have a film ready to send, it could all be shot on a phone or a tin can, we just want to see something different.
Open to individuals of all ages but a least two HODs must be 16-25 years old at the time of making the film and residing in the UK.
The film must be 5:30 minutes maximum (including credits), up to 6 films will be selected with one spot held for someone from our mailing list! Full details on how to enter will go public at the end of the month but we are giving our mailing list a head start.
